Cosmetic Salts

Why do we add salts to cosmetics?

You may see salts like sodium chloride or sodium citrate on your care and cosmetic products’ labels. Adding SODIUM CHLORIDE in cleansers like shampoo thickens the texture and makes the formula stable. Other salts like SODIUM CITRATE and MAGNESIUM SULFATE are used in cosmetics preservatives and volumizers, respectively. There is another type of salt named sea salt for skin care and hair care products which provides essential minerals for our hair and skin and can be incorporated into exfoliating, anti-ageing, massage and hair loss formulations.
